What It Is
Concierge security brings together two functions that are often treated separately: front of house service and professional security.
More Than Security
A standard receptionist manages visitors and answers enquiries. A standard security guard monitors access and responds to incidents. A TMS Protection concierge security officer does both, to a high standard, simultaneously.
This means your front of house function is not a gap in your security and your security function is not a deterrent to the experience of residents, guests or visitors. The two work together, delivered by one trained professional.
TMS Security, Your Values
This means your front of house function is not a gap in your security and your security function is not a deterrent to the experience of residents, guests or visitors. The two work together, delivered by one trained professional.
Professional Service
What Our Guards Do
Every officer TMS Protection deploys is directly employed, vetted to BS 7858 and trained in security and customer service. Here is exactly what that means on the ground.
Access Control Management
Controlled entry across key areas.
TMS concierge security officers manage access control at building entrances, car parks and restricted areas, helping ensure only authorised people are allowed into the right spaces. Officers can check credentials, manage visitor flow, monitor access points and respond to any concerns in line with your site procedures. This supports a safer, better-managed environment while giving residents, staff, visitors and building managers confidence that access is being monitored professionally.
Resident and Visitor Support
Professional support from arrival.
TMS concierge security officers greet and assist residents, guests and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner, creating a positive first impression while maintaining site security. Officers can provide directions, support visitor sign-in procedures, answer basic site queries and ensure arrivals are managed in line with building requirements. This helps create a safe, organised and well-managed environment where people feel supported, while access and visitor activity remain properly controlled.
Visitor Sign-In Procedures
Organised access from the front desk.
TMS concierge security officers can operate and monitor visitor management systems and signing in procedures to ensure arrivals are recorded clearly and access is managed correctly. Officers can verify visitor details, issue passes where required, notify the relevant resident, tenant or staff member, and ensure visitors follow the agreed building process. This helps maintain a professional front-of-house experience while giving building managers a clear record of who attended, when they arrived and where access was granted.
CCTV Surveillance Monitoring
Early awareness from the front desk.
TMS concierge security officers can monitor CCTV surveillance systems to help identify security concerns across entrances, communal areas, car parks and restricted spaces. Officers can observe live feeds, recognise suspicious behaviour, check developing situations and respond in line with agreed site procedures. This supports early intervention, improves visibility across the building and ensures any concerns are recorded, reported and escalated clearly where further action is required.
Internal Building Patrols
Visible checks across shared spaces.
TMS concierge security officers can conduct internal patrols of communal areas, stairwells and car parks to help maintain a safe, well-managed building environment. Patrols allow officers to identify security concerns, maintenance issues, unauthorised access, suspicious behaviour or anything that may affect residents, visitors or staff. Each check can be recorded clearly, giving building managers a reliable account of activity across key shared areas and ensuring any concerns are reported and escalated without delay.
Building Key Management
Secure control of building access.
TMS concierge security officers can manage key holding responsibilities for the building, ensuring keys are controlled, issued and recorded in line with agreed procedures. Officers can support authorised access for residents, contractors, maintenance teams and emergency situations while maintaining a clear log of key movements. This helps protect restricted areas, reduce the risk of unauthorised access and give building managers confidence that key access is handled securely and accountably.
FAQ
Concierge FAQs
What is the difference between a concierge security officer and a standard security guard?
A standard security guard is trained primarily in security functions including access control, patrol, incident response and surveillance. A concierge security officer is trained in all of these and additionally in front of house service delivery, customer service, professional conduct in high end environments and appropriate interaction with residents, guests and visitors. In a concierge role the quality of the service experience is as important as the security outcome.
Can your concierge officers manage a reception desk?
Yes. Our concierge security officers are trained to manage front of house and reception functions including greeting and assisting residents and guests, operating visitor management systems, handling enquiries and maintaining visitor logs. The reception desk and the security function are managed by the same trained professional.
Do your concierge officers work day shifts, night shifts or both?
We provide concierge security officers for day shifts, night shifts and around-the-clock coverage depending on your requirements. Night shift concierge security is a specific deployment with its own protocols, including lone worker safety monitoring through our 24/7 control room.
Can you provide concierge security for a residential development with multiple buildings?
Yes. TMS Protection manages security across multi-building residential and mixed use developments. Each building has its own site-specific Assignment Instructions and is monitored individually through SmartTask. You have a named contract manager responsible for the overall relationship.
How do your officers handle a difficult or aggressive resident?
All TMS Protection concierge security officers are trained in conflict management and de-escalation. The approach is to treat every person with respect and dignity, use body language awareness to identify escalation early and apply de-escalation techniques to encourage calm resolution. The use of reasonable force is a last resort, trained and documented. In a residential environment the goal is always to resolve situations without confrontation.
Can concierge security officers manage key holding for the building?
Yes. Key holding is a standard part of the concierge security function. Our officers manage key holding responsibilities in line with your building’s protocols and our own keyholding procedures, which include secure key management and documented access records.
